Ongoing coaching helps you understand what matters most, apply what you learn, collaborate with your child's healthcare providers, and adjust the plan over time.

You do not have to have everything figured out before you begin.

Dawn's Story

A Mother’s Search.
A Scientist’s Determination.
A Family’s Miracle.

Although I have professional training in psychology, services provided through Spectrum Integrative Wellness are offered solely in my role as an Integrative Health Coach and are not psychological services.

As both a mother and a psychologist, I knew I was already doing much of what my professional training had prepared me to do. Yet I knew some researcher somewhere must have figured out how to help with at least some of my children's symptoms, even though at the time I did not hear anyone discussing the possibility of recovery from autism.

That realization led me to begin looking beyond behavior alone. I became determined to understand what underlying factors might be contributing to my children's challenges and what might support their overall health, development, and well-being.

I immersed myself in research, exploring nutrition, lifestyle factors, environmental influences, emerging wellness approaches, and later, advances in genetics and nutrigenomics. My goal was not simply to manage symptoms but to better understand what might help my children thrive and reach their fullest potential.

Over time, I witnessed remarkable improvements within my own family. What began as a search for ways to help my children with severe challenges—including mutism, head-banging, frequent meltdowns, lack of eye contact, and high-risk impulsive behaviors—ultimately became a journey that exceeded anything I thought possible.

As my children healed, I watched them progress through profound autism, then through ADHD-related challenges, and eventually into a level of health, communication, connection, and functioning that once felt almost impossible to imagine.

While I cannot predict outcomes for any individual child, and every child's path is unique, my family was blessed to experience what I consider a miracle: my children progressed from profound autism, through ADHD-related challenges, and ultimately into a level of health and functioning I once could barely imagine. That experience transformed my perspective and ultimately shaped the work I do today with other families seeking answers, clarity, and hope.
Ways We Can Help

Personalized guidance for the whole child—and the whole family.

Laboratory Education & Wellness Insights

Through education and guidance, I help families understand available laboratory testing options and how wellness-related findings may contribute to a broader understanding of nutrition, lifestyle, digestion, metabolic health, and overall well-being.

My role is to help parents interpret this information from a wellness perspective and apply it thoughtfully in collaboration with their healthcare providers.

Biofeedback Education & Nervous System Regulation

Biofeedback offers a non-invasive way to explore how the nervous system responds to stress and how the body may be supported toward greater balance. Through education and guidance, families can learn how stress, sleep, focus, emotional regulation, sensory overwhelm, and overall wellness may be connected to the body's physiological patterns.

When appropriate, biofeedback-based wellness tools may be used to support relaxation, stress awareness, and nervous-system regulation from an educational wellness perspective.

Personalized Wellness Plans

Targeted strategies based on testing results, health history, lifestyle, and your child's unique needs.

Parent Partnership

We work together every step of the way with clear communication, education, and ongoing support.

Root-Cause Approach

We look beyond symptoms to identify underlying imbalances that may be affecting your child's health and behavior.

Questions Parents Ask First

Answers before you take the next step.

Parents often arrive with years of questions, mixed advice, and uncertainty. This section helps families quickly understand the Spectrum Integrative Wellness approach.

How can integrative wellness support help my child with autism, ADHD, or related developmental challenges?

Support begins by looking at the whole child and family, including nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, stress, emotional wellness, environmental influences, and personalized wellness factors that may affect overall well-being.

What makes your approach different?

My approach is shaped by both personal experience and years of dedicated study in nutrition, wellness, lifestyle factors, environmental influences, and nutrigenomics. Having navigated the challenges of autism and ADHD within my own family, I understand the challenges parents face and the desire to find answers that go beyond symptom management.

I combine personalized wellness support, compassionate guidance, and a whole-person perspective to help families move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and hope.

Do you offer nutrigenomic testing?

I provide education and guidance regarding available nutrigenomic testing options. Nutrigenomic information can offer valuable insights into how genetic factors may influence nutrition, lifestyle, and overall wellness. My role is to help families understand these insights from a wellness perspective and apply them thoughtfully in collaboration with their healthcare providers.

Are appointments available online?

Yes. Spectrum Integrative Wellness serves families in St. Louis, Missouri and also offers online appointments for your convenience.

How is health coaching different from therapy?

Spectrum Integrative Wellness provides health coaching and wellness education, not psychotherapy or medical care. My role is to help families better understand nutrition, lifestyle, nervous system regulation, wellness-related laboratory and nutrigenomic education, and other whole-person wellness strategies. Together, we'll develop practical, personalized steps that support your family's wellness goals while encouraging ongoing collaboration with your child's healthcare providers.

Can you work alongside our child’s pediatrician or other providers?

Yes. Families are encouraged to maintain relationships with their licensed healthcare providers. My role is to provide education, coaching, and wellness support that can complement—not replace—appropriate medical or psychological care.

What happens during a Discovery Call?

The Discovery Call is a brief conversation to understand your concerns, your child’s needs, and whether my parent-centered wellness coaching approach may be a good fit for your family.

Do you work with families outside Missouri?

Yes. Virtual health coaching and wellness education are available to families in many locations. My services focus on education, guidance, and personalized wellness coaching rather than psychology, psychotherapy, or medical diagnosis and treatment. If specialized laboratory or nutrigenomic testing is appropriate, I help families understand available options through laboratories that provide physician oversight when applicable.

Do you understand what my family is going through?

Yes. My own family experienced many of the same challenges and worries that bring parents to Spectrum Integrative Wellness today. We struggled with communication difficulties, overwhelming meltdowns, safety concerns, and uncertainty about what the future might hold. Like many parents, I wondered whether my children would ever be able to communicate effectively, build meaningful relationships, become independent, and live fulfilling lives.

Those experiences led me to spend years researching factors that may influence health, development, and overall well-being. I explored nutrition, lifestyle factors, environmental influences, and, more recently, advances in nutrigenomics and personalized wellness.

Because I have walked this path myself, I understand the uncertainty, exhaustion, and sense of isolation that many parents experience while searching for answers. Today, I use both my personal experience and wellness training to help families move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and hope.
